TRIPLE TREAT EVENT ENDS SOROPTIMIST
YEAR 2009
After the horrific time Soroptimists had in the aftermath of the typhoons that battered Metro Manila and the Luzon provinces, distributing relief food assistance, andhelping barangay residents rebuild their ruined lives, they gave themselves a triple treat on December 6 at the Philippines Columbian. It was a respite from the sometimes grueling work of valunteerism.
Seven Districts joined the caroling competition, with the North Bulacan Group coming in Santa's costumes and Bulacan South as angels. Metro Manila Northwest district received the judges' nod as the best carollers of the year. Receiving second prizes are Metro Manila Southeast and Metro Manila Northeast. Third Place went to Southern Luzon District.
On the same occasion, due recognition was given to individuals and clubs for their constant and loyal support of SIPR events. The fantastice Chit dela Cruz, for successfully handling the Dream Raffle the second time around, dedicated Treasurer Marisol Tugade, for keeping the purse strings tight, the irrepressible Cherry Tumaneng for giving us the SIA Federation Award "Best in Public Awareness", the adventurous Evelyn San Buenaventura, for planting the Soroptimist seed in Romblon, Benita Santos, for the very innovative Team Building Seminar; Fe Amor Ilagan, for her creativity in fellowship events, the ageless Letty Yap, for her inspiring programs, and GE Paloma, for the Soroptimist Leadeship Academy.
SIPR also donated USD20.00 to the SIA Annual Club Campaign in behalf of clubs, for club achievements: SI Bocaue, for sending the largest delegation to the Iloilo Conference, the UN Day and the Christmas event; SI Gumaca for paying SIA and SIPR their dues in record time; SI Alabang for paying their raffle tickets ahead of everyone; SI EDSA Villagers and SI Marikina Metro for sending the biggest number of delegates to the Soroptimist Leadership Academy; SI Guagua for maintaining the biggest club membership, and West Central Luzon District for being the most supportive district. Congratulations to all.

Maria and Anabelle Corpus, the best marshalls of SIPR events; Mariecel Oñate and Liela Salgado, for their emceeing services; Lyn Gamboa, acting as chair of judges of the caroling competition, for keeping the Soroptimist fires burning in far SI Silay; and the hardworking SIPR Staff, ED Nerie, Lerma and Jheisel.
